What is the best coffee in the world? Let's find out!

In search of the best coffee in the world

With so many different coffee beans out there, how can we find the best coffee in the world? Why with a bit of research, and quite possibly drinking many many cups of the best coffee in the world -- in the name of scientific research of course. Now we should point out of course, that finding the best of anything is very subjective. That is, what one person may consider to be the best coffee in the world might not even be palatable to another person.

So what we really want to find is the best coffee in the world for you. And we will propose that the worlds best coffee will be that one which you really enjoy and can fits your budget. And quite possibly, people may have more than one favorite best coffee in the world. After all, with a product such as coffee it is really hard to limit the selection down to one of the best coffee beans.

Best coffee in the world roast

Coffee beans come in various types of roast, from just barely toasted to smokey dark. Some people prefer a nice light, almost green, earthy Mocha Java style roast. The very light roasts of the best coffee in the world do not have a strong coffee taste. However, they are nonetheless excellent tasting coffee beans.

Other people prefer their best coffee in the world roasted to a more medium style. A medium roasted coffee bean garners a terrific coffee flavor from the bean, while not being overly strong such as can happen with a darker roast. The medium roast is probably one of the most commonly used for the best coffee beans in the world. It is a popular roast.

Yet other people prefer a very dark roast. When a very dark roast is used on the best coffee in the world, it gives the beans a strong characteristic flavor. Some people call this a smokey flavor. However, as we alluded to earlier, not everyone likes the same coffee roast. So what some people call smokey in the best coffee in the world, other people call burnt. So you will have to decide for yourself when trying the best coffees in the world to see which roast you prefer.

So without further delay here are my top five best coffee beans in the world:

Best coffee in the world number 1: Jamaican Blue Mountain

Without a doubt, many people consider Jamaican Blue Mountain to be the best coffee in the world. It is grown high in the mountains of Jamaica. It has a very distinct taste that many people really enjoy. This coffee bean generally gets very high reviews; however it can be costly for daily consumption at around $40 per pound. However, Jamaican Blue Mountain blend coffees also rank highly and are in the competition for the best coffee in the world as we will investigate further in this article. However, there are many blends available that are still delicious but more economical in price, as we shall see below.

Best coffee in the world number 2: Reggies Roast Jamaica Blue Mountain Blend

I recently received a can of this coffee as a gift. I was very pleasantly surprised at the flavor. It is sharp, crisp, and absolutely delicious. The fresh scent when these beans are ground is heavenly.

And the taste is out of this world. That's why this coffee comes in at number two on my list of the best coffee in the world. It comes in standard cans with a foil sealed top. This one of the worlds best coffee is available in both whole bean and pre-ground styles. I suggest the whole bean with a grinder.

Worlds best coffee number 3: Magnum Jamaican Blue Mountain Blend

I purchased this coffee some months back because it had five out of five stars at Amazon. And I was not at all disappointed. This worlds best coffee is also a great value. With a two pound bag coming in around USD$15.99 with the option for free shipping, it is no more costly then the premium coffees sold in grocery stores.

The Jamaican Blue Mountain flavor is still very distinct and pleasant even though this coffee is a blend. It has a sharp, crisp taste and is sure to be a crowd pleasing member of the best coffees in the world.

And number 4 of the best coffee beans in the world: Lavazza Super Crema Espresso Whole Bean

I purchased this coffee based on the high ratings it had on Amazon. At the time of this writing, this worlds best coffee had a rating of four out of five stars. This coffee's biggest strength in my opinion is its smoothness. It is exceptionally pleasant to drink. In fact this might be a good coffee to give to someone who is new to coffee drinking.

The flavor of this worlds best coffee is superb. But again, its smoothness is what stands out to me. While this coffee is not my favorite, it continues to find its way into my coffee drinking rotation every couple of days. Its price is not very high either, with a 1 kilogram (2.2 pound) bag going for around USD $23 with additional discounts available.

Best coffees in the world number 5: Colombian Dark Organic Coffee by Café Altura

I hadn't heard of this brand, but since it had good reviews I thought I would try it. I didn't like it very much on the first cup I had. But then as I had later cups of this worlds best coffee, I grew to like it quite a bit. My favorite thing is that the beans are very oily in this coffee and produces a strong coffee flavor. It is a very delicious coffee.

I prefer it as a breakfast coffee. The flavor is crisp and bold. This best coffee in the world I have noticed can be made quite strong and still taste very good. Other coffees seem to become bitter if the blend is made too strong. But not this one; it simply continues to please and finds its way into my daily coffee drinking regularly. I hope you enjoy it.

Conclusion for the best coffee in the world

To wrap up this article, it is hard to pick just one best coffee in the world. And people's opinions are going to vary as to what the best coffee in the world is. So that's why it is important to try many different types and brands of coffee, so that you can find the worlds best coffee for yourself.

Post note: How about the worst coffee in the world?

The worst coffee in the world is that which you just can't stand. Now there is that old adage that says even when it's bad it's still pretty good. And with coffee that can be true. The absolute worst coffee I have had is at the cafeteria where I work. It is catered by a fairly large company that specializes in workplace cafeterias and touts their coffee as being excellent. But it is not; it is quite horrible. And they use those squeeze urns that breed bacteria too.

Other coffees I do not like are some of the popularly ones that advertised on television and that are very popular in grocery stores. These coffees do have a pleasant flavor, but they taste adulterated to me. Someone told me these coffees are smoked with quite a bit of hickory. The hickory gives them a pleasant taste yes, but it is not a coffee taste. It rather makes up for the lackluster coffee beans that are used. Personally I also can't stand flavored coffees. I just like a nice black, straight cup, or indeed cups, of the worlds best coffee beans.
